Pali Chal (pronounced PAUL-EE CHALL) is a sweet stocky colt born in the early hours of July 5, 2012. He was an automatic people-lover, coming right up to everyone when we discovered him out in the paddock, having been sneakily delivered by Isabella earlier in the morning. Both mom and baby were healthy and happy, and have remained so.
Pali meets Michele at a few hours old, what a friendly guy!
Pali has a lovely thoughtful temperament, and is turning out to be quite patient. He has begun halter and lead training, and is doing very well. He also shows special interest in obstacles, and makes an effort to jump over poles.
Upon first meeting Pali, visitors to the ranch notice how compact and big-boned he is. He soon wins them over further-more with his "pocket pony" personality and gentle presence.
UPDATE: Pali is willingly leading, leads off both front legs, leads back off both back legs, leads forward off a cinch string and has worn a blanket just to test him out. He is a very willing little guy with a lovely collaborative personality.
Pali Chal is a Rom name, translating to "small boy". Pali is not particularly small, but next to his solid 15hh+ dam Isabella, he seems tiny. His sire is our 13.2hh Vines-bred Vimto, and we expect Pali to mature out to somewhere around 14.3hh. He already has very heavy bone and is compact and strong.
